Mineralization Comments

Jun 30, 2011 (A Wilson) - Molybdenite forms thin foliated sheets which rarely attain 5 inches across and ½ inches in thickness. Usually the plats are not more than 1/8 inch thick and less than 2 inches in diameter. A 1911 report indicates that the molybdenite was never abundant enough to be economic but that if collected the total molybdenite would be “not more than a few hundred weight”. Good specimens of molybdenite were reported.
