Jun 28, 2011 (A Wilson) - Bands of nepheline and corundum bearing rocks cross the Rosenthal-Rockingham road. The corundum and nepheline rocks are interbedded with syenitic gneisses. The band has an approximate width of 1000 feet.

Jun 28, 2011 (A Wilson) - The corundum occurs as rough crystals from half an inch to 1 inch across and forms 10% of the rock. The largest exposure was an outcrop 6 by 10 feet. The corundum is almost all intergrown by magnetite and is mantled by nepheline. Corundum was reportedly shipped to the mill at Jewelville. No production was recorded.
