Jun 29, 2011 (A Wilson) - The host rock is a flat-lying, slightly gneissic, pink hornblende syenite. In the upper part of the workings, flat-lying green hornblende gneiss is exposed. Lenses and pods of hornblende, zircon, apatite, titanite, calcite vein material occur in the yellow-brown hornblende syenite.

Jun 29, 2011 (A Wilson) - On the dump, a few crushed, brownish-red zircon crystals were found in fragments of a fine-grained pink syenite. Some very large crystals were reportedly collected from this site. Some of the zircons have good hyacinth colour and parts of the crystals are sometimes suitable for gem cutting.
