Lithology Comments

May 26, 2011 (A Wilson) - The quarry is located on the northwest side of a 400m wide, northeasterly-trending marble ridge. The dolomitic marble strikes 30° and dips 40°E. The dolomitic zone consists of white to buff, coarse-grained dolomite with 1-5% combined muscovite, phlogopite, serpentine and tremolite. The calcitic marbles are coarse-grained and vary in colour from white to pale blue-grey, green and pink. Impurities include serpentine, phologopite and traces of graphite and pyrite.

May 26, 2011 (A Wilson) - A grab sample collected by Lebaron in 1989 returned 1.56% SiO2, 0.06% Al2O3, 0.14% Fe3O2, 21.2% MgO, 30.9% CaO with a brightness of 90.3.
