Aug 31, 2011 (A Wilson) - Two quarries are found in roughly the same location. One quarry faces northwest and is 120 by 60 feet with a 6-7 foot face and the other faces northeast. This quarry is 50 by 60 feet and had a 6 foot face. The marbles are described as grey banded, coarse-grained and crystalline.

Aug 31, 2011 (A Wilson) - The stone from the eastern quarry was originally used as polished stone for monuments, lintels, coping, window sills etc. By 1915 the stone was being used for lime. Approximately 30 tpd lime was produced daily. Very fine graphite crystals are irregularly distributed throughout the stone and may run fine lines through the stone.
