Access Description: From Renfrew town, proceed northeast from Tim Horton's (highway 60, alias Stewart at Bruce) on Bruce for 2.6km. Turn right on Garden of Eden Road, bypassing RR number 1025a and after a further 0.3km on a gravel road fork to the right to the quarry entrance.

Lithology Comments

Sep 09, 2011 (A Wilson) - The stone is blue-grey in colour. It contains flakes of phlogopite, graphite and silicate minerals.




Mineralization Comments

Sep 09, 2011 (A Wilson) - A grab sample collected by Goudge returned the following analysis: 1.42% SiO2, 0.43% Fe2O3, 0.25% Al2O3, 0.09% Ca3(PO4)2, 88.73% CaCO3 and 8.82% Mg CO3. The stone was used to build the post office in Renfrew.
