Sep 27, 2011 (A Wilson) - A 9 m thick band of wollastonite-bearing rock occurs in the rock cut on the Madawaska Hill. These bands are comprised of approximately 65-70% wollastonite, 10-15% diopside, 10% scapolite, 5% microcline, 2-3% quartz and trace amounts of calcite. It has been conjectured that this rock may have a carbonatitic affiliation.
