Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Paragneiss 1 Pyroxenitic Host
Marble 2 Calcitic Adjacent
Pegmatite 3 Host

Lithology Comments

Aug 24, 2011 (A Wilson) - A 30 foot shaft was sunk within the marble. A 100 foot by 2 foot by 8 foot trench also was sunk on the same band of marble. Marble, hornblende gneiss, rusty biotite paragneiss and pegmatite were observed in the trench. In 1944, Satterly noted a few flakes of molybdenite within a narrow stringer of pegmatite within the pit.
