Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Diabase 1 Diabase Host
Pegmatite 2 Granite Contains
Marble 3 Adjacent

Lithology Comments

Aug 17, 2011 (A Wilson) - A near-vertical diabase dike (2-3 feet wide) was reportedly exposed in the shaft. The diabase intrudes marble which is in turn cut by narrow dikelets and larger masses of pegmatitic granite.

Mineralization

Mineralization and Alteration
Rank Mineral Name Class Economic Mineral Type Alteration Mineral Type Alteration Ranking Alteration Intensity Alteration Style
1PyriteEconomicOre

Mineralization Comments

Aug 17, 2011 (A Wilson) - Sparse to moderate amounts of disseminated pyrite occur along the contacts of the dike. This mineralization is most abundant where small offshoots of the dike cut the marble. No chalcopyrite was observed.
