Point Location Description: Pit ' Fe ' between Bennett Bay and Bane Bay on White Lake.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Located 61 m E of a private road on the S edge of a large clearing It is accessible by car along this road at a point 0.8 km N from the gravel access road to Bennett Bay (Pickerel Bay) on White Lake. It is 380 m NE of Eggshape Bay on White Lake. Workings not recently located.
Pre 1910 : several small trenches and a 20 ft deep shaft.
Province: Grenville
Geological Age: Mesoproterozoic
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Massive blue hematite occurs in brecciated dolomitic marble in a lens about 15 x 200 ft. Fe 34.73 % (1910) and 63.6 % (1980). Supergene replacement in a fault breccia - probably an extension of the White Lake Deposit.
