Aug 17, 2011 (A Wilson) - The garnet-biotite schist strikes N45E and dips 45°NW. The pegmatite dike is approximately 3 feet wide. Garnet forms approximately 10% of the gneiss. Fractured dark red garnets 5 to 7 mm in size are plentiful, 1 cm garnets are common and garnets up to 2 cm also were observed. The garnet-bearing units are approximately 30 m wide.

Aug 17, 2011 (A Wilson) - The books of muscovite range from 2-4 inches in width. Satterly noted that the mica was clear and unspotted. The muscovite was exposed in an 8 foot deep open cut.
