Aug 26, 2011 (A Wilson) - The area consists of a wide marble belt and two narrow marble belts intercalated with paragneiss. The marble belts are comprised of thin units (1-1.5 m) of varying type and purity of marble and intercalated quartzite-arkose and gneiss units. Both dolomitic and calcitic marble are found north of old highway 508

Aug 26, 2011 (A Wilson) - Sample PM45 returned an analysis of: 0.55% SiO2, 0.1% Al2O3, 0.3% Fe2O3, 21.4% MgO, 30.4% CaO and with a brightness of 80.5. Sample PM46 returned an analysis of: 3.64% SiO2, 0.5% Al2O3, 0.5% Fe2O3, 14.4% MgO, 35.9% CaO and with a brightness of 84.5. Sample MA6-3 returned an analysis of: 1.53% SiO2, 0.2% Al2O3, 0.4% Fe2O3, 20.6% MgO, 32.2% CaO and with a brightness of 75.5.
