May 02, 2011 (A Wilson) - The host rock is described as a narrow band of fine- to medium-grained, nepheline-poor gneiss. The band is cut a number of masses or dikes of pink graphic granite pegmatite or hornblende syenite pegmatite.

May 02, 2011 (A Wilson) - Scattered crystals of brown corundum occur in the feldpathized gneiss. Most of the crystals are ?1/2 inch across, but occasionally larger ones are observed. The largest crystal observed was 1 inch across and 3.5 inches long. The material was not considered to have commercial value.
