Point Location Description: Star symbol ' Lst 8 ' SE of Kinburn and near Carp River.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Opened in a low ridge on the E side of the Carp River, about 1 ml NE of the CNR.
Pre-1938 : 2 quarries (750 ft apart, the larger to the S) on the Benjamin Hodgins property; stone used for railway culverts. Sections from both quarries and Samples # 183 and # 183A from here (1938).
Province: Paleozoic and Mesozoic Basins
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Limestones of the Black River, Chazy and Trenton Formations underlie this area, and several quarries have been worked for building stone and road metal.
