Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Comments on marble : analysis of a very pure, white, banded marble from a cut on the CNR, lot 22, con 12; dolomitic nodules (up to 8 in) on lot 21, con 7; dolomitic beds (2 ft) and crystals on lot 16, con 8. Also, coarse-grained calcitic and dolomitic marble exposed along the Mississippi River to the E and N of Galetta (lots 21 and 22, con 5 and 6). This contains considerable biotite, quartz and other impurities.
