Sep 26, 2011 (A Wilson) - The top 6 feet of the quarry consists of thin beds of magnesian limestone separated by shale layers up to 6 inches in thickness. Below this, the limestone is in heavy beds mottle and streaked horizontally. Some of the beds are dolomitic and some are magnesian limestone. Satterly described the quarry as being 150 feet wide and narrowing to 25 feet at the north end. In 1944 the face ranged from 5 to 12 feet
