Access Description: The West Carleton Quarry is located 6 km NE of Almonte on Hwy 44.
The quarry was originally opened by Metcalf Construction, was subsequently purchased by Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited in 1971. Stone was used in the construction of Hwy 17.
