Lithology Comments

May 07, 2013 (A Wilson) - The gneiss band strikes N70ºW and dips 20ºN. The pit exposes a lenticular vein parallel to the gneissic structure. The vein is 6 feet long, has a maximum width of 1 foot. and consists of purple fluorspar, pink calcite and secondary minerals of bronze-weathering scapolite and dark green pyroxene.

Mineralization Comments

May 07, 2013 (A Wilson) - Purple disseminated grains of fluorite are associated with apatite. The vein contains purple fluorspar, pink calcite and secondary minerals of bronze-weathering scapolite and dark green pyroxene. The apatite occurs as crystals accompanied by grains of purple fluorite. The fluorite is often enclosed in bronze-brown scapolite crystals. Outcrops of limestone on the same property contain biotite and aggregated masses of large crystals of orthoclase. Rough crystals of pyroxene and titanite also were observed.
