Skarn 1 Pyroxenitic Host
Marble 2 Adjacent

Lithology Comments

Aug 31, 2011 (A Wilson) - Satterly reports 19 pits in a clearing on the top of a hill. The largest of these pits was 15 feet across and 12 feet deep. The pits were developed in a pyroxenitic skarn zone developed within the metasedimentary rocks. The skarn is a coarse-grained dark green rock that is composed of diopside with variable amounts of actinolite, calcite and plagioclase which is cut by numerous veinlets and dikes of white plagioclase and pegmatite. The deposit is hosted within a northwest-trending succession of marble and sandstones that are cut by numerous dikes and sills of pegmatite.
