May 14, 2013 (A Wilson) - The paragneiss belt is approximately 1.5 to 2 km in width with minor intercalated marble and pegmatite intrusions. The garnetiferous unit is part of a group of paragneiss units interpreted as argillaceous arkosic sandstone. The rock is well layered into quartzo-feldspathic layers. The rock consists of alternating garnet-biotite-sillimanite layers and quartz-feldspar layers.
