Lithology Comments

May 14, 2013 (A Wilson) - The pegmatite is a pink granite pegmatite, crudely zoned and cross-cutting a light grey felsic gneiss of trondhjemite to rhyodacitic composition. The pegmatite contains abundant quartz and pink to slightly reddish microcline. There is an irregular discontinuous quartz core and a border zone containing magnetite and thorite.

Mineralization Comments

May 14, 2013 (A Wilson) - Radioactivity levels over an area containing a red vitreous mineral reached 4000 cpm on the U+Th spectrum and 1000 cpm on the Th spectrum. A grab sample of the pegmatite assayed 90 ppm U3O8 and 620 ppm Th. Readings from a shallow pit in granite pegmatite gave values up to 800 cpm on the U+Th scale.
