Point Location Description: Quarry symbol 5.2 km SE of Leitrim.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
1977 : quarry (excavated into a hillside) owned by J. Leonard and opened in 1977 by G.W. Drummond Ltd. 1989 : at this time was licensed to Permanent Concrete (a division of Lafarge Canada Inc) - 40.46 ha. The quarry had 2 lifts of about 6.1 m in 1989, the lower one being worked (and covering an area of about 10 ha). Products used for internal construction projects and commercial sales.
Province: Paleozoic and Mesozoic Basins
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - The 11.9 m deep quarry (1989) exposes sandstones, sandy dolostones and dolostones of the March Formation which are overlain by dolostones of the Oxford Formation. Overburden is up to 2m thick. See OGS 1991 for a section.
