Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - 3 samples ( 145-7 ) of black, carbonaceous, fissile shales of the Billings Formation. These proved to be exellent bloating materials in the stationary furnace but gave poor results when processed in the rotary kiln ( because of a narrow vitrification range).
