Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Siliceous dolomite of the Beekmantown Formation ( unit 4, Lower Ordovician Oxford Formation ) is exposed along the shore of the Ottawa River just W of the warf at Cumberland - 5 ft of grey-blue, fine-grained, flat-lying strata. The quarry S of the town is opened in Bobcaygeon Formation ( Middle Ordovician ).
