Point Location Description: Point 3.5 km WSW of Cumberland.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Believed to be the quarry described as that at mile 45.5 in GSC 68-51. A large quarry located on the S side of Hwy 17, 4 km W of Cumberland, opened into the N side of an escarpment which parallels the Ottawa River.
Large quarry, operated many years ago - probably for crushed stone for construction of Hwy 7.
Province: Paleozoic and Mesozoic Basins
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - Mineral location - calcite and marcasite. Rockliffe and Oxford Formations ( 20 m ). A vertical fault separates the quarry into 2 sections. Section AQ TH-2 ( OFR 5770 ).
