Lithology Comments

Jun 05, 2009 (A Wilson) - The property is described as a dike of red spar carrying large masses of free quartz and quantitiy of disseminated magnetite. The surrounding host rocks are mapped as massive granites and biotite gneisses. The dike is estimated to have a width of 15 feet striking 60°N. The dike is not well exposed, but could be traced for about 200 feet.

Mineralization Comments

Jun 05, 2009 (A Wilson) - The magnetite in the deposit renders the deposit useless for ceramic purposes. The dike consists chiefly of pink microcline and white quartz with some dark red plagioclase (oligoclase?). Crystal masses of microcline up to 1 foot diameter occur and some good-sized masses of quartz occupy the middle of the dike. Small books of whit emica up to 3 inches diameter occur very sparingly. A few nodules up to ¼ inches diameter of euxenite were also found. Bulk samples from test pits in the dikes reportedly have returned 0.10% U3O8, and 0.15, 0.10 and 0.12% niobium and tantalum oxides. Five samples sent to the the ODM lab showe dup to 0.49% U3O8 equivalent and 0.42% U3O8 chemical. A sample of selected euxenite-bearing material showed a spectrographically a content of 0.04% yttrium, 0.02% Nb and < 0.003% scandium.
