Access Description: Drive 13.4km north of Mattawa on highway 533 past Snake Creek and turn south on logging road. Drive a further 15.5km. Continue past Purdy Mine for approximately 2.8km

1942-43: Mica Company of Canada – prospecting, production. Operations were suspended in 1943.

Lithology Comments

Jul 25, 2012 (A Wilson) - The dike strikes N40E across garnetiferous hornblende-biotite gneisses which strike approximately N30W. The pegmatite dike ranges from 8 to 9 feet in width. The workings consisted of an open pit which was sunk on the hillside and follows the strike of the dike for about 135 feet.

Mineralization Comments

Jul 25, 2012 (A Wilson) - Biotite, tourmaline and epidote also were observed in the dike. A black mineral resembling euxenite also was observed. The muscovite was described as stained and creased and otherwise imperfect.
