Lithology Comments

Mar 27, 2013 (A Wilson) - Calcite veins with ore over 10 inches in width occur in both the Archean and the Cobalt series rocks. The Staples Vein was the main vein on the property; it had an overall length of 580 feet. The greatest concentration of ore was mined from the junction of the Staples Vein and its junction with the No. 5 Vein. The veins are associated with upper and lower contacts of a sill of Nipssing diabase. Ore shoots were rich, but small, and occurred within the Archean metavolcanics, and the Nipissing diabase.
