Lithology Comments

Mar 26, 2013 (A Wilson) - The vein occurs at the top of the Nipissing sill and does not extend into the overlying rocks. The Wettlaufer Vein strikes N60E and it outcrops along the side of the Wettlaufer valley within the Wettlaufer Fault. Silver production came from only a single vein. The main vein had a width of approximately 6 inches and occurred at a depth of between 110-250 feet below the Keewatin contact. The vein has a subvertical dip and extends over 1000 ft in length and weathers out at each end.
