Lithology Comments

Aug 17, 2017 (A Wilson) - Narrow veins of calcite occupy multiple shear zones within mafic to intermediate metavolcanics. The metavolcanics are described as slightly carbonatized and chloritized. The shear zones and veins range from 0.5 to 1.5 ft. in width. Veins occur in Gowganda conglomerate and quartzite above Keewatin volcanics, beneath which Nipissing diabase sheet dips west. Veins strike N-S and E-W

Mineralization Comments

Aug 17, 2017 (A Wilson) - A grab sample collected from a trench by J. Gore in 1992 assayed 3582 ppm Cu, 629 ppm Co and trace Ag. Additional grab samples from the property returned values up to 0.905% Cu, 0.166% Co and 0.003% Ni. Sampling from carbonate veins in a stripped area returned assays ranging from 1.70% Cu; 0.017% Zn; 0.021% Cu. Veins in the No. 1 and No. 2 shafts are copper-cobalt bearing. These veins are unusual for the township in that they are in Coleman Formation rocks, approximately 100 ft. thick and separated from the underlying diabase by about 900 to 1,000 feet of metavolcanics. More recent work in 1963-64 by the present owners consisted of geological mapping and the drilling of numerous holes. Copper assays ranged from 0.635% to 0.645%. Zinc assays reached as high as 0.130% and cobalt assayed as high as 1.582% Co.
