Lithology Comments

Aug 17, 2017 (A Wilson) - Steeply dipping mafic metavolcanics are intruded by the west side of a quartz diabase body up to 1000 ft thick. The Wettlaufer Fault vein strikes southwesterly across the northwest corner of the claim and is intersected or joined by the Bulldog Fault that strikes southeast. Nipissing diabase less than 500 ‘ thick and dipping 25º ESE overlies 100-150’ of Cobalt Series greywacke. The Cobalt greywacke occupies the south-west end of a northeast trending paleovalley underlain by steeply dipping Keewatin rhyolite. The Cross Lake olivine diabase dike (of Keeweenawen age) is 50 feet in width, strikes southeast across the claim and dips 75º NE. Two branches of the Cross Lake fault cross the claim. One striking southeast and the other south-southeast.
