Mineralization Comments

Nov 03, 2017 (A Wilson) - Chalcopyrite-pyrite mineralization is present along a sheared zone about one foot wide and with northwesterly strike. The sheared zone traverses Keewatin pillow lava; chalcopyrite and pyrite are present in the shearing and the adjacent rock; in places quartz and carbonate in minor amount are present. The sheared zone traverses Keewatin pillow lava; chalcopyrite and pyrite are present in the shearing and the adjacent rock; in places quartz and carbonate in minor amount are present. At the time of the writer's visit (1966) preliminary exploration had just started; two short drill holes were put down in 1967 another drill hole was put down on a somewhat similar occurrence on the east side of Highway 11 at about 700 feet north of the pipeline. A zone of quartz carbonate in 3-4.5 m X 37m zone averages 0.68% Cu and 0.93% Ni mineralization in pyroxenite.
