Exploration History

25-Oct-2017 (A Wilson) S.L. MacDonald, consultant for the company, reported (Danlou Mines Ltd. Prospectus, etc.) that a sample from a pit (designated "Danlou Pit") gave an assay return of 5.9 oz. silver and 0.73 oz. gold per ton. Extensions of the quartz and schist in the pit were explored by a minor amount of rock trenching and three drill holes. M. Ogden reported that assay returns of samples from the drill holes were nil or trace. Sampling of the Danlou pit (1961) gave an assay return of 0.18 oz. gold over a width of 18 inches. Additional assays returned assays of 0.73 oz./ t Au and 5.9 oz./t Ag. A 2.1 meter wide shear zone contains quartz veins in granite. Asays: AG 200 g/t; Au 6.2 g/t/0.46m; (Danlou Pit), Geology: 2.1 m wide shear with quartz veins in granite, REF INDEX: (4) DIAMOND DRILLING, REPORT.

Lithology Comments

Nov 03, 2017 (A Wilson) - A 7-foot wide shear zone in granite is intruded by diabase dikes containing quartz stringers. The zone strikes N80°E and dips 70°N. The pit was reported to be 10 feet deep and to expose quartz veins to a width of 30 inches enclosed in schist; pyrite-chalcopyrite mineralization is present. The schist and veins strike N80°E and dip 70°N. The schist is along a fault which is post-Matachewan in age. Extensions of the quartz and schist in the pit were explored by a minor amount of rock trenching and three drill holes. The pit was reported to be 10 feet deep and to expose quartz veins to a width of 30 inches enclosed in schist; pyrite-chalcopyrite mineralization is present. The schist and veins strike N80OE and dip 70ON. The schist is along a fault which is post-Matachewan in age. Extensions of the quartz and schist in the pit were explored by a minor amount of rock trenching and three drill holes shown in Figure 5. M. Ogden (Danlou Mines Ltd., Assessment Work Reports, Best township) reported that assay returns of samples from the drill holes were nil or trace. Sampling of the Danlou pit gave an assay return of 0.18 oz. gold over a width of 18 inches. Work was stopped in 1961.
