Access Description: Drive 12.5km north of Temagami. Take Rosevelt Rd on east side of highway 11. Cross railway line and drive 5.4km to skidoo/ATV trail at right side of road. Travel 5km taking left turn at intersection. Continue 2km to edge of Lorrain Lake. Travel by boat to small neck at eastern edge of lake. Portage over beaver dam. Continue by boat to southern end of eastern section of Lorrain Lake. Traverse by foot at 195 degrees ~300m to site.



Exploration History

11926-1949: Friday Mines Limited - trenching, pitting, 156 ft. deep shaft with 201 ft. drift and 54 ft. cross cutting on the 80 ft. level; DD-8-1600. 1997-98: K.H. Kreise – geochemical survey, line cutting, sampling.

Lithology Comments

Mar 27, 2013 (A Wilson) - The Nipissing diabase strikes N35W and is 350 feet wide with a nearly vertical attitude to a depth of 800 feet. A calcite vein (10 inch wide) reportedly was exposed for a distance of 400 feet along strike.

Mineralization Comments

Mar 27, 2013 (A Wilson) - An assay of 20 oz/t Ag was reportedly obtained from a vein on the property. Cobalt bloom and cobalt arsenides in vein material also have been observed on the shaft dump. A small amount of cobalt ore was reportedly obtained from the underground workings between 1928-29. A grab sample of vein material collected from the mine dump by R. Thomson returned only trace Ag.
