Lithology Comments

Oct 18, 2012 (A Wilson) - A series of pits were sunk into what was originally described as pyritic iron formation, but was identified by Bennett as a steeply dipping, sill-like body of Temagami Island diorite. The diorite has intruded into a sequence of chloritized intermediate to felsic metavolcanics. The volcanic units consist primarily of rhyolite and rhyolite breccia tuff. The rhyolite is dark grey to grey to creamy grey, massive is heated on the footwall of the metadiorite and appears to be conformable with the intrusion. This unit appears to be identical with the Temagami Mine's rhyolite that hosts the pod like high-grade copper ore bodies. To the south, the rhyolite is in contact with fine-grained pyroclastics termed rhyolite breccia tuff. It is at this contact between the two rhyolite units that the ore bodies are heated. The rhyolite breccia tuff is dark green, relatively massive and is characterized by "pin head" sized clots of chlorite disseminated throughout the unit. The metadiorite underlying the claims strikes at N65°E and dips steeply north. It attains a maximum thickness of 200 meters near the western boundary of the property and appears to pinch out to the east.

Mineralization Comments

Oct 18, 2012 (A Wilson) - Assays from the area have reportedly returned 20.12 - 39.4% S and 0.78-5.4% Cu. Diamond drill holes completed by Candela Development in 1952 intersected 11.3 m of sulphide mineralization that averaged 0.50% Cu. A second drill hole intersected sulphide minerals containing an average of 0.47% Cu and 0.22% Ni over 2.4 m. A grab sample collected by W.G. Miller from the property assayed $1.40 gold, 0.48% Cu, 0.27% Ni. A 27.5 ft section of core from Temex DDH-1 assayed 0.47% Cu and 0.16% Ni; anomalous PGE concentrations up to 196 ppb also were detected. Copper assays from Temex DDH-3 ranged from 379 ppm to 2.1% Cu within a 14.5 ft section of the pyritic zone. Nickel concentrations ranged from 585 ppm to 2930 ppm over the same intersection for an average grade of 0.17%. PGE concentrations up to 249.5 ppb and gold concentrations of 690 ppb also were detected. Assays from the diorite overlying the pyrite zone returned copper values ranging from 208 to 4730 ppm with an average grade of 0.2% Cu over 19.4 m. Ni concentrations were anomalous through the same zone, ranging up to 765 ppm. The footwall rhyolites returned Cu values from 394 to 5420 ppm. The rhyolite graded 0.2% Cu over 7.3 m. Nickel concentrations over the same zone were generally low. The best assays from grab samples collected by Temex in 2000 returned: D3: 6260 ppm Cu, 3500 ppm Ni, 240 ppm Pd, 55 ppm Pt; D4: 4940 ppm Cu, 2150 ppm Ni, 192 ppm Pd 75 ppb Pt.
