Exploration History

1910-16: Claim 304 – Mayfair Shaft sunk to 200’ with a few hundred feet of later work on 200’ level. 1916; shaft deepened to 420 ft. and a drift driven north into the adjoining Ophir claim. 1945-53: Mayfair Mines Ltd.- DD-25-7425 (surface DDH); UGD-76 -19,917 ft. 1961-62; 18-UGD-8327 ft. and 144 f t. of drifting.

Lithology Comments

Jul 26, 2017 (A Wilson) - Steeply dipping Keewatin andesite with a general NW strike is exposed on most of the property. Lorrain granite occurs on the eastern portion of claim 602. Nipissing diabase occurs on the southern portion of claim 602 from where it dips in a general NW direction under the Keewatin rocks toward the New Lake diabase basin. The Nipissing diabase has two irregular arches in the upper contact; one trending NE of the shaft and a second trending NW, east of the shaft.
