Lithology Comments

Aug 08, 2017 (A Wilson) - All rocks exposed to the west of the property are Nipissing diabases, but to the east the exposures, although few and far between, are Cobalt sediments, either conglomerate or greywacke. The Nipissing diabase dips to the east and appear to be thinning out as it intruded the sediments. A pit put down to a depth of approximately 12 feet intersected a vein of massive smaltite (cobalt) up to 3 inches in width, striking 70º and dipping 75º south. In the same pit, is an aplite dyke 8-10 inches in width containing cobalt bloom.
