1907: Mohawk Cobalt Silver Mines Ltd. – shallow pitting; and one shaft; the shaft is about 200 ft. deep with 4 levels. 1960-61: Sherritt Gordon Mines Ltd. DD-5-2597 ft.; EM survey.

Lithology Comments

Aug 01, 2017 (A Wilson) - A vein, traversing the Nipissing sill and striking N73E and dipping 80ºS, is exposed in the 44 ft. level drift for 38 ft. Aplite dikes associated with calcite and quartz veinlets follow irregular fracture zone some 2 ft. wide. Disseminated cobalt and silver mineralization in small quantity occurs in the wall rock of veinlets.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 01, 2017 (A Wilson) - On the dump are pieces of vein material with pink and also grey calcite (commonly in the central part of the vein) and quartz (in part as well-shaped crystals up to a half-inch in length) along the outer edges of the vein. Cobalt and nickel mineralization as well as a little chalcopyrite and pyrite were noted.
