Exploration History

1912: Property discovered, surface exploration was carried out, including 10 pits and shafts. 1916: 50 tons of ore grading 16% Cu and 12 oz/to Ag shipped. 1952-1959: J. Price carried out exploration and one diamond drill hole totaling 37m. 1970: Guardian Mines Limited completed VLF ground survey. 1982: Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. carried out exploration and 1 diamond drill hole totaling 248m.

May 07, 2019 (Sheree Hinz) - Mineralization is within the upper contact zone of a Nipissing diabase sill that intrudes mudstone of the Firstbrook Member of the Gowganda Formation, and arkoses of the Lorrain Formation.

Mineralization Comments

May 07, 2019 (Sheree Hinz) - Mineralization generally consists of disseminated pyrite, chalcopyrite, and malachite within quartz-calcite veins hosted in carbonatized varied textured Nipissing diabase. An Assay done by Born and Hitch in 1988 gave values of 1740ppm Ag, 2.14% Co, and 1130ppm Cu.
