Apr 10, 2013 (A Wilson) - The peatland is divided into 2 oval –shaped deposits, a northwestern basin and a southeastern basin by a bedrock knob and complex series of relict sandbars that underlie shallow peath. Together the 2 basins cover about 1015 ha.
Apr 10, 2013 (A Wilson) - The total peat volume for both deposits is estimated at 15.27 million m3. The humified peat volume is estimated at 7.2 million m3 of the total volume. The stump content of the peat and the dense tree cover in the swamp is too high for conventional peat extraction.
