Jul 19, 2010 (A Wilson) - The occurrence consists of a thick section (52 ft.) of varved clay exposed in the bank of Evanturel Creek. The section is typical of the Clay Belt in northeastern Ontario. The clay deposits are related to glacial lake Barlow-Ojibway. The varved layers range from 3.8 cm at the top to 7.6 cm at the base of the sequence.
