Point Location Description: Pit
Location Method: Field Visit with GPS
Access Description: The calim block is located east of Hwy 624, 22 km south of the hamlet of Larder Lake. Travel a bush road east from the highway approximately 500 m. The road ends at a large stipped outcrop. The pit is at the west end of the outcrop.
1990 - An airborne magnetic and VLF electromagnetic survey was flown over the property. The showing is on an EM conductor. A 102 foot diamond drill hole was completed. An area near surrounding an old pit was stripped and sampled. Assays to 3223 ppb Au and 4.1% Cu. 1991 - Five diamond drill holes were cored totalling 1394 feet. Hole K-S-1 assayed 1852.5 ppb Au over 3.9 feet. The property was looked at by Noranda exploration staff and the core logged and sampled. Assays were reported to be anomalous in gold. 1992 - Kosy-Salo contracted ground magnetic, VLF-EM and HLEM geophysical surveys on the property. 1993 - Comeco Corp. sampled the property. Gold assays were below 338 ppb Au and copper ranged up to 1.4%. 1994 - Hemlo Gold Mines Inc. visited the property and assayed 2 samples. Gold results were 1.51 and 2.13 ppm Au and 0.29% and 1.43% Cu. 1995 - Noranda Exploration conducted a property visit on the stripped area. Five samples were submitted for assay. Four samples returned assays between 676 and 2883 ppb Au. The copper assays ranged between 0.55% and 2.1%. Falconbridge Limted examined the property and sumbitted 4 samples for assay and 9 samples for whole rock analysis. One sample assayed 2880 ppb Au and 0.87% Cu.

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - The zone occurs within the Skead assemblage. The Catharine Fault lies within the Catharine Pacuad assemblage and approximately parallels stratigraphy. The showing is approximately 2 km from the projection of the fault under the Munro Esker and up stratigraphy. Stratigraphy is at approximately 300 degrees but the sulphide zones are in at least 2 directions, the predominant being east-trending and the other more north-trending. Sulphide zones are narrow, dominantly pyrite with some chalcopyrite and anomalous in gold.

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - Whole rock analyses indicate that the rock is calcalkalic andesitic tuff to agglomerate. Weak bedding of clasts was noted at the eastern end of the stripped area. Rocks are medium green with minor ribbons of light green sericite alteration near some of the sulphide zones.

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - Disseminated to stringer pyrite with minor chalcopyrite. Minor malachite was noted. The sulphides range from very fine grain to 3 mm. Coarse grained pyrite is subhedral to euhedral and striated.
Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - The rock is greener and darker than expected for a calcalkalic andesite with visible chlorite alteration. Minor <1 mm, subparallel veinlets of sericite give the rock and banded appearance in a few locations. Disseminate to stinger pyrite is concentrated in narrow bands up to 15 cm wide and can be traced for about 10 m. The amount of alteration is relatively low and quartz veining did not appear related to the sulphide zones.

Notes: Property visited on October 3, 1997 with Conrad Messier. I was on the property the previous day with Arvo Salo to have a quick look. 4 (97301-97304) rock samples were collected during the visit but nothing has been assayed to date. The samples require slabbing and staining for carbonate minerals. Samples show low chlorite and sericite alteration and the development of disseminated pyrite. The amount of alteration developed is less than would be expected proximal to a gold deposit. The varied orientation of the sulphide zones suggest a west-trend although there is least a second, less prevalent, set with a northwest-trend. One zone could be traced on surface for approximately 10 m. Channel sampling along strike extention of some of the zones would be required to determine if the sulphides are present but gossan is not being developed on surface. Insufficient work has been done to date to rule out a deposit at depth.
