Exploration History

1920s - Gold bearing quartz vein exposed on the property. 1925 - Trenching and surface diamond drilling by Ossian Gold Mines Limited. 19 holes totalling 5421 feet. 1926-1927 - Ossian Gold Mines Limited sank a 210 foot shaft with levels at 90 and 200 feet. Lateral development was 600 feet on the 90 ft level, including 480 ft on the quartz zone and 450 feet on the 200 foot level. 1928 - P.E. Hopkins was hired to re-evaluate the sampling. Best assay underground on 90' level was 0.08 opt Au/4.6 feet and on the 200' level to be 0.125 opt Au/3.5 feet. 1934 - Dump material sent to Noranda for testing and averaged 0.03 opt Au and 0.02 opt Ag. Selective dump material averaged 0.125 opt Au and 0.12 opt Ag. 1935-1936 - 5 hole diamond drill program by Ossian Gold Mines Limited to check out original holes. 1939 - Sylanite Gold Mines Limited examined the surface trenches. 1949 - Paymaster Consolidated Mines Limited surface mapped and sampled the old trenches. A sample from a trench returned 1.47 opt Au/2 feet. 13 grab samples were taken from the quartz shaft dump. The average was 0.09 opt Au and the dump contained an estimated 1055 tons of material. 1975 - Minedel Mines Limited has the old surface and mine plans reviewed. It was concluded the surface data was reliable but no the underground. An airborne magnetic survey was conducted on the property. 1976 -Ground mag and EM surveys. 1993 - Crow Geological Surveys Inc. cut a small grid centered on the shaft. Ground mag and VLF-EM surveys were completed. 1996 - Silver Century Explorations Ltd. completed ground mag, VLF-EM, IP and geological surveys and channel sampling. 1997 - 6 ddh totalling 1390 m.
