Surface trenching and deep pitting was completed. 1993-1995 - Sudbury Contact Mines Limited collected rock samples, completed line cutting, ground mag, VLF-EM, MAx-Min, IP and geological mapping. Six diamond drill holes, totalling 1084 m were completed. 1996-1997 - Brigadier Gold Limited completed bedrock stripping and channel sampling of the showing.

Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - The property is within the Timiskaming Assemblage (Ayers et al. 2002) (Larder Lake - south of the Larder Lake Fault Zone. A smaller scale structure (Skead Splay Fault) separates the Tisdale from the Timiskaming. The showing is to the west of the Skead Spaly Fault within altered sedimentary rocks. The northeast striking Benson Creek Fault is to the south of the showing.

Lithology

Lithology Data
Rock Type Rank Composition Texture Relationship
Vein 1 Quartz-Carbonate Host
Porphyry-unsubdivided 2 Dark Grey Near
Terrigenous-Clastic-Unsubdivided 3 Wacke Near
Lamprophyre-Unsubdivided 4 Carbonated Breccia Footwall

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - Rocks were mapped as wackes and congloerates by Thomson (1947). A series of veins strike about 210 and dip steeply west. The footwall is either a highly altered carbonated conglomerate or a caronated pebbly lamprophyre. A grey porphyritic? rock lies below the lamprophyre.

Alteration Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - A series of parallel quartz-carbonate veins cut the host rock. Veins are up to 1 m in thickness with blows up to 8 m. The zone of veining and carbonate alteration is up to 25 m wide. Rocks weather brown indicating an iron-carbonate alteration.

Notes: Property was visited August 1, 2002 with Allan Willy of Brigadier. Alteration is medium to strong with the rocks weathering brown from the iron-carbonate. Sample 02309 - Qtz-barite vein with galena. Photos: 730273 - Allan Willy looks at the vein; 730274 - view of the shaft (southwestern); 730275 - view of veins and alteration looking south from northern shaft area; 739276 - alterated pebbly lamprophyre near the southern shaft.
