1918 - The initial claims were staked following the discovery of gold on the property by R. Montgomery. 1920-1923 - King Kirkland Gold Mines Ltd. was formed in 1920. Extensive exploration in the next 3 years about 30 narrow quartz-carbonate veins were discovered on the property. An inclined shaft was sunk with development on the 90-foot and 400-foot levels. 1923 - Tonopah Mining Co. optioned the property, completed additional lateral work on the 400-foot level. The option was dropped and the mine closed at the end of 1923. 1936 - The company reorganized as Kirkking Gold Mines Ltd. The workings were resampled and additional diamond drilling was completed. Sampling of the vein system did not return assays as expected from earlier underground sampling. The charter was surrendered in 1938 and the claims reverted back to King Kirkland Gold Mines Ltd. 1980-1983 - Lampe Resource Company Ltd. and propsectors Mike Leahy and Carl Forbes completed trenching and sampling, ground magenetics, VLF-EM and radiometric surveys, and diamond-drilled two holes.

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - The property is underlain by a grey, fine to medium grained rock, with phenocrysts up to 8 mm in diameter. The rock is mapped as porphyrite by MacLean (1956). Two diamond drill holes from the property are stored at the Swastika drill core library (KL-1291 and KL-1292). Examination of the drill core shows that the rock is not consistently porphyritic. Rock fragments and possible bedding can be observed suggesting that, at least in part, the rock is sedimentary in origin.

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - Numerous quartz-carbonate veins were prospected on the property. Most are less than a few inches across but, in places, some are up to 6 feet in width. The majority are northeast-trending with a steep dip to the north. The rock, in the vicinity of the veins, is altered to a yellowish-green colour and a strong foliation is sometimes developed. Near the shaft, fuchsite fragments can be observed in the rock. Carbonate staining indicates the presence of Fe-dolomite as well as calcite. Diamond drill hole KK-82-2 (core library number KL- 1291, MDi32DO4SWO0202), collared 500 feet north of the shaft, was drilled to the northwest and intersected 3 quartz-carbonate veins. The veins are identified as the No. 13, the No. 1 and a vein in-between (Hopkins, 1923). The rock has been altered by silica, sericite and chlorite development. Fine grained disseminated pyrite is present in concentration of about 4% and trace amounts of chalcopyrite have been observed. The alteration zone for the vein between the No. 13 and the No. 1 veins as observed in drill core extends from 109 to 156.5 feet down the drill hole. Sampling by Lampe Resources and Queenston of 22.2 feet of core over a 26.6 foot core length returned averaged assays 0.03 ounce ton gold. The remainder of the alteration zone remains unsampled.
