Access Description: Approximately 4.9 km north of Government Road on Duncan Ave. is a gravel road on the east side of the road. The outcrop is approximately 800 m to the east and contains sulphide mineralization. The pits are about 220 m to the northwest.



Exploration History

1915 - Property staked by T. Oke and patented in 1923.1915 - 1937 - Surface stripping and the development of 2 shallow shafts. One of the shafts, as identified in KL-0495 is north of the township line in Morrisette Twp.1945 - Diamond drilling (not in assessment files) by Kirkland Central Mining Company Limited.1961 - Charter of Kirkland Central cancelled.1973-1974 - Stripping, trenching and assaying by E. Chorzepa. Assays to .43 opt Au over 12 inches at the shaft in Morrisette Twp.1975 - 2 diamond drill holes totalling 264 feet near the shaft in Morrisette Twp by E. Chorepa. Best assay 0.05 opt Au over 3 feet.1976 - 3 diamond drill holes totalling 501 feet by E. Chorzepa. The 3 holes are east and west of the projected strike of the vein in the shaft in Morrisette Twp. Best assay 0.06 opt Au over 2.5 feet.1977 - trenching by E. Chorzepa.1983 - 1 diamond drill hole by E. Chorzepa totalling 122 feet in Lebel Twp, between the 2 shafts. Also so trenching.

Lithology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - The property is mainly underlain by mafic tholeiitic metavolcanics, striking northeast and dipping steeply north. Minor quartz-feldspar porphyry intrusions occur on the property. One is associated with the western shaft.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - An outcrop to the southeast of the western shaft contains quartz veining, some hematite alteration and disseminated pyrite.



Alteration Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (D Guidon) - Iron carbonate alteration is reported to be relatively strong along a structural zone that appears to connect the 2 shafts. Rocks collected on an outcrop to the southeast of the western shaft contain disseminated pyrite and hematite associated with quartz veins.

Notes: Outcrop about 220 southeast of the original pit visited with D. Laing on Sep.11/99. Point located by GPS as Zone 17 574029E 5337193N. Outcrop containing quartz veins, disseminated pyrite and hematite. Samples 98315-98317 collected. Assayed for Au and prospectors package.
