Lithology Comments

Jun 24, 2015 (C Salo) - Geological mapping indicates that bedrock in the area consists mainly of largely glacial drift covered weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) tholeiitic basalt, volumetrically minor interflow sediment, and narrow rhyolitic horizons of the (Archean) Kinojevis Group. Volcanic stratigraphy strikes northeast, dips steeply south, faces south, and occupies part of the north limb of the east striking and east plunging Blake River Synclinorium. The Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone is a complex regional scale structure which, in the Harker-Holloway area, strikes east. The occurrence is several hundred metres south of the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone. Intrusive rocks in the area include narrow syenitic dikes and narrow (tens of metres in width) north striking diabase dikes of the (Proterozoic) Matachewan swarm.

Mineralization Comments

Jun 24, 2015 (A Wilson) - Diamond drilling of the Southwest Zone has shown the zone to be gold-hearing. Although values are not economic, the width and the widespread gold mineralization intersected are considered highly significant. Assays from the 1985 Mary Ellen Resources drilling returned 0.030 oz/t Au over 2.23 m (DDH M-85-1) and 0.021 oz/t Au over 1.0 m (DDH M-85-2).

Jun 24, 2015 (C Salo) - Compilation by the Kasner group of companies (of which Mary Ellen Resources was one) suggests that the Cryderman and Ghostmount auriferous zones may extend on to the Mary Ellen Resources property. In Harker Township, the Cryderman zone is known to be auriferous several hundred metres southwest of the Mary Ellen Resources claims where it has been sampled on surface and at depth (by diamond drilling) by Newmont Exploration of Canada Ltd. The Ghostmount zone is a stratigraphically concordant feature within which anomalously elevated gold tenors are known to exist (i.e. at the Mattawasaga deposit, located in north central Holloway Township). The locations of the Mary Ellen Resources diamond drill holes which are reported to have intersected anomalous gold tenors are not known by the present writer. Information in the The Northern Miner (November 11, 1985) indicates that at least some anomalously elevated gold tenors are interpreted to have been obtained from the strike extension of the Cryderman zone. From a planned 7 hole- 5,000 foot diamond drill program, 4 holes intersected anomalously elevated gold tenors (these ranged from 0.02 to 0.04 ounce of gold per ton) across core lengths ranging from 10 to 12 feet in three zones. The highest reported assay was 0.10 ounce of gold per ton across a 'narrow' core length from the interpreted extension of the (Harker Township) Cryderman auriferous zone.
