Point Location Description: Diamond drill hole #120.
Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Point Located: A point 0.75 km north and 3.20 km west of the southeast corner of Garrison Township.
1946: Garthack Mining Co. Ltd. mapped geologically, trenched, pitted, and diamond drilled 9 holes totalling about 2,000 feet. 1947: N.B. Keevil diamond drilled 1 hole totalling 1,007 feet and intersected anomalous gold tenors associated with quartz veins; reported assays include 0.03 ounce of gold per ton along a 0.8 foot core length. 1948: The Garthack Mining Co. completed a magnetic survey. 1965: Inco Ltd. diamond drilled 2 holes totalling 1,017 feet. 1985: Kerr Addison Mines Ltd. drilled 65 overburden holes and diamond drilled 6 holes totalling 2,767 feet. A 3 foot diamond drill core length averaged 0.01 ounce of gold per ton. 2 bedrock samples from the overburden drilling program also averaged more than 0.01 ounce of gold per ton.

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - Largely glacial drift covered (Baker et al. 1982; McClenaghan et al. 1988, 1987; Steele 1988) fine grained weakly magnetic and moderately silicified weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) mafic volcanic rocks of the (Archean) Kinojevis Group which strike northeast, dip steeply south, and face north (Satterly 1949, Jensen 1982, Jensen and Langford 1985, Jensen and Baker 1986, Johnstone and Steele 1989) underlie the area.

Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - Assays from diamond drill core are reported (assessment files, Resident Geologist's Office, Kirkland Lake) to average as much as 0.202 ounce of gold per ton from a breccia zone containing 4-6 m size angular volcanic blocks cemented by a quartz- carbonate which contains 6-8% of pyrite. A 3 foot core length from Kerr Addison Mines diamond drill hole no. KG-85-1 consisted of quartz stringers hosted by basalt with pyritic alteration developed marginal to the stringers. This material averaged 0.01 ounce of gold per ton. The Kerr Addison Mines overburden drilling also yielded two bedrock samples each of which averaged more than 0.01 ounce of gold per ton.
