Location Method: Conversion from MDI
Access Description: Point Located: A point 3.20 km north and 6.20 km west of the southeast corner of Garrison Township.
1947: Consolidated Mining And Smelting Co. of Canada Ltd. completed a magnetic survey and diamond drilled 5 holes totalling 1,391 feet. 1961: Golden Croesus Mines Ltd. completed magnetic and long wire electromagnetic surveys and diamond drilled 1 hole south and west of what would eventually be the Winteroad Resources Ltd. claims. Golden Croesus Mines diamond drilled 8 additional holes on a patented claim lying between the patented Buffonta Mines Ltd. 1980: Windjammer Power and Gas Ltd. completed geological mapping, trenching, and magnetic and IP electric surveys. 1983: J.R. Moses and Winteroad Resources Ltd. diamond drilled 3 holes totalling 2,280 feet. zone. 1985: Cream Silver Mines Ltd. completed a VLF electromagnetic survey which extends in part over claims held by Winteroad Resources. 1986-1987: J.R. Moses and Winteroad Resources diamond drilled 12 holes which were targeted on the anomalously auriferous breccia that was discovered by hole no. 83-3. Additional holes were diamond drilled to further define this auriferous zone. In all, 26 holes totalling 6,638 feet were diamond drilled. 1988: Winteroad Resources acquired 10 additional claims to bring their holdings in the area to 18 contiguous claims (The Northern Miner, June 6, 1988). Additional diamond drilling is planned 1989: Great Northern Gold of Alberta is reported (The Northern Miner, January 8, 1990) to have optioned 10 Winteroad Resources claims.

Geological Age: Archean
Metamorphism Grade: Greenschist
Dec 07, 2005 (C Salo) - Geological mapping (Sutcliffe and Steele 1989; Johnstone and Steele 1989; Jensen and Langford 1985; Jensen 1982; Satterly 1949; Baker, Steele and Seaman 1982; McClenaghan et al. 1989, 1988, 1987; Steele 1988) indicates that bedrock in the occurrence area consists mainly of weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) subaqueously deposited tholeiitic volcanic and interflow sedimentary rock of the (Archean) Kinojevis Group which strikes east northeast, dips steeply, and faces south. Diamond drilling in the area has established that anomalous gold tenors (including those due to the presence of coarse grained native gold within quartz veins) is hosted by a carbonatized and silicified breccia having a flat (25-30 degree) northerly dip and an apparent east strike. Known gold mineralization is reported (Winteroad Resources Ltd. 1986 Annual Report) to occur in three zones:
Rock Type | Rank | Composition | Texture | Relationship | Breccia-unsubdivided | 1 | Carbonatized & Silicified | Near |

Known gold mineralization is reported (Winteroad Resources Ltd. 1986 Annual Report) to occur in three zones: Zone 1: Approximately 250 feet long, ranging from 2 to 12 feet in thickness; core assays range from 0.12 to 0.273 ounce of gold per ton. Zone 2: Approximately 120 feet long, ranging from 2 to 12 feet in thickness; core assays range from 0.38 to over 1.0 ounce of gold per ton. Zone 3: Sufficient diamond drilling has not been completed to define dimensions but a single diamond drill hole intersected a mineralized zone 8 feet wide which assayed 0.542 ounce of gold per ton.
