Geology Comments

Jun 29, 2015 (R Degagne) - Bedrock in the area occupies part of the north limb of the east striking and east plunging Blake River Synclinorium. The area of recent (1986-1988) drilling is about 6.3 km south of the east striking Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone. At least part of the anomalous gold mineralization has been interpreted (assessment files) to be spatially associated with the southwest extension of the Ghostmount Fault Satterly interpreted this fault to exist marginal to a prominent southwest striking magnetic anomaly in northern Holloway Township which occurs south of the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone. Recent electromagnetic surveys of Harker and Holloway Townships show that the magnetic anomaly which (by definition) defines the feature now known as the Ghostmount Fault extends continuously from northern Holloway Township into southwest Harker Township (and beyond, to the southwest). Diamond drilling by Canamax Resources Inc. which eventually led to the delineation of the Mattawasaga deposit (spatially associated with the Ghostmount Fault) demonstrated that a narrow fault zone does indeed occur approximately where Satterly interpreted it to be. Diamond drilling by Perrex Resources/Lac Minerals has intersected narrow zones of chloritic and/or muddy fault gouge which areassociated with the anomalously auriferous zones; these are interpreted by Perrex Resources geologists to represent the southwest extension of Satterly's Ghostmount Fault.

Lithology Comments

Jun 29, 2015 (R Degagne) - Geological mapping indicates that bedrock in the area consists of weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) northeast striking, steeply south dipping, and south facing tholeiitic basalt of the (Archean) Kinojevis Group. Bedrock exposure is largely glacial drift covered, but diamond drilling has revealed that in addition to basalt, significant thicknesses (core lengths up to 480 feet in length) of clastic and variably carbonaceous interflow sediment also occur within the Kinojevis Group in the area. Intrusive rocks in the area include mafic, intermediate, felsic, and syenitic bodies of unspecified size and geometry (as revealed by diamond drilling) and occasional narrow (tens of metres in width) north striking diabase dikes of the (Proterozoic) Matachewan swarm

Mineralization Comments

Jun 29, 2015 (A Wilson) - Drill hole No.KX27-68 intersected two core sections (one 4 ft long, the other 7 ft long) which assayed 0.01 oz Au / ton. Both of these intersections were below 588 ft. One intersection was in a quartz-calcite vein in a sheared and fractured zone and the second intersection was between 675 and 682 ft. within a sequence of mafic metavolcanics rocks. Copper values were intersected in a sequence of carbonatized metasediments near the top of the drill hole, as well as in mafic to intermediate metavolcanics throughout the drill hole. Higher values up to 0.04% Cu over 10 ft were recovered from shear zones. One 8 ft section of mafic metavolcanics between 635 and 643 ft. assayed 0.06% Cu and a 5 ft. section of core between 605 and 610 ft assayed 0.07% Cu and 0.005 oz/t Au. Silver values up to 1.2 ppm over 1 ft. were found within the upper sections of the drill hole within carbonatized metasediments.


Jun 29, 2015 (R Degagne) - The only documented occurrences of anomalous (0.01 ounce of gold per ton or greater) gold tenors the area are from two narrow (4 foot and 7 foot) core lengths of sheared and fractured basalt which are reported to have assayed 0.01 ounce of gold per ton (assessment files). This auriferous material is reported to be hosted by quartz-calcite hydrothermal breccia and is reported to be associated with elevated (10-25%) pyrite contents. This auriferous material was intersected by Amax Exploration Inc. hole No.KX27-68.

Notes: The discovery in southwest Harker Township of what appears to be Holt-McDermott type gold mineralization is significant. Should the Perrex occurrence auriferous zones prove to be potentially economic, or should they prove to be sufficiently interesting to justify further exploration in the area, and if this mineralization is spatially associated with the Ghostmount Fault, there is reason to expect analogous gold mineralization to occur elsewhere along the Ghostmount Fault between the Perrex Resources discoveries and the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone (a distance of about 15 km) and indeed further along the Ghostmount Fault's strike to the southwest. Recent electromagnetic surveys suggest that the magnetic anomaly with which the Ghostmount Fault is associated (and other magnetic anomalies within the Kinojevis Group south of the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone) extend more or less continuously along tens of kilometres of strike length in the BRIM area. The Perrex Resources discoveries in southwest Holloway Township suggest that many of these magnetic features have the potential of hosting analogous auriferous zones.
